Corporate Philanthropy

At GreenWood Resources, stewardship is an important value, and that includes how we give back to the communities in which we live and do business.  At our office and field locations across the world, our employees are engaged in supporting healthy communities through volunteerism and support for local events and causes.

Volunteer Activities

Our Portland employees volunteer regularly at the Oregon Food Bank, helping to package food and provide meals for our neighbors in need. Together, they’ve packaged more than 7,500 pounds of food and provided more than 6,300 meals. We also support food bank programs in Boardman, Portland and Clatskanie.

Employees (and friends) from our Portland, Boardman and Gearhart locations participate as volunteers (and runners) in the annual Hood To Coast Race, with all proceeds benefiting Providence Cancer Center.

We have supported a joint effort between The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Outdoor Dream Foundation, to grant an outdoor adventure to a youth with a terminal or life-threatening illness.

Nonprofit Organization Support

Monterrey Forrestal GWR is committed to local education and supports their primary school in Zambrano, Colombia. Internationally, other organizations we support include the Spinal Muscular Atrophy Foundation in Poland.

Closer to home we’ve pitched in to help:

Boardman Chamber of Commerce; Regional Solutions; 4H and Future Farmers of America programs in Boardman, Gearhart and Clatskanie, Ore.; De La Salle North High School internship program; The Freshwater Trust; Providence Seaside Hospital Foundation; Volunteer fire departments in Gearhart, Seaside and Cannon Beach, Ore.; and countless high school sports sponsorships and free sports programs for kids.

Community Event Sponsorships

A Very Poplar Run raises money for the Hermiston Agape House, and receives dedicated volunteers and other resources from Greenwood’s Boardman location. Among other events we’ve supported include Irrigon Watermelon Days in eastern Oregon, and Go Fourth Timber Festival in Longview, Wash.
