Renewable Biomass/Biofuel Energy

In communities with a favorable policy environment, power generation from biomass is a cost competitive renewable resource and can provide base load supply unlike wind or solar energy.

GreenWood Resources is a leader in the U.S. renewable energy industry. We have led or collaborated on thirteen federally-funded grant projects to develop plant material and management strategies for renewable woody biomass systems. Currently, we lead the feedstock production team for a major grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture, Advanced Hardwoods Biofuels project, to develop a renewable transportation fuels industry for the Pacific Northwest.

We are a member of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Bioenergy Science Center at Oak Ridge National Laboratory where we collaborate in the development of molecular resources to improve biofuel conversion rates for hybrid poplar. Once the research demonstrates success, we will lead the commercial phase using private capital to finance a full-scale biomass production operation with a large scale bio-refinery.
