Jeff Nuss

GWR President & CEO

Jeff Nuss is founder, President & CEO of GreenWood Resources, Inc. and its subsidiaries and is directly responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the company and overall management of the business. Mr. Nuss has over 23 years of tree farm development, management and investment experience, and more than 15 years of experience in international business development.

Through Mr. Nuss’ leadership, GWR has grown to over 100 professionals with offices and field locations in North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia (China). GWR currently manages approximately $US 825 million of assets or commitments and is committed to certifying its tree farms under the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or equivalent third party audited certification programs. In addition, GWR has been a leader in the research and development of hybrid poplar as one of the key future sustainable feed stocks for bioenergy and biofuels and is leading the way in the development of dedicated energy plantations.

Prior to founding GreenWood Resources, Inc., Mr. Nuss was a Project Manager and Engineer for CH2M HILL, a global leader in consulting, design, design-build, operations, and program management. During his twelve years at CH2M HILL, he worked closely with municipal, industrial, and private clients focused in finding innovative solutions for projects ranging from beneficially reusing wastewater and biosolids through land applying on built natural systems such as poplar tree farms or golf courses to a private client’s commercial venture in developing a large scale hybrid poplar plantation for their internal wood demands.

Mr. Nuss serves on the Board of Directors of the National Alliance of Forest Owners, World Forestry Center, past President and Board member of Agri-Business Council, and past President and on the Board of Western Hardwood Association. He is a graduate of Oregon State University and holds a B.S. degree in Bio-Resources Engineering and M.S. degree in Resource Management and Policy from the Civil Engineering Department.
